Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the CPG Sales Finance Analyst supports the CPG Sales team by providing information and insights to enable sound financial and operating decisions. This role will be responsible for monthly reporting, forecasting and planning as well as completing various ad-hoc requests through modeling and analyzing significant amounts of data across different systems. Utilizing strong analytical thinking skills, they will go beyond providing data to interpreting the information and proposing and assisting in the implementation of solutions, with the goal of ensuring profitable growth for the CPG channel. This role is a Full-Time, exempt position.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and own analytical models with the goal of driving profitable growth in the CPG channel
  • Own weekly and monthly variance reporting with performance against prior year and plan targets
  • Assist the VP CPG Sales and the Finance team with forecasting and planning of Net Revenue through Gross Margin for the CPG sales channel
  • Provide tools for the CPG sales team to assess customer profitability
  • Set Operating Expense targets by team member and provide reporting against targets
  • Provide analytics regarding sales and profitability trends across the CPG channel at various levels (by account, by sales territory, by product, etc.)
  • Assist the VP of CPG sales in building Power Point presentations to communicate business results and insights to both internal and external customers
  • Analyze syndicated data (IRI/ACNielsen/SPINS) to develop category insights
  • Complete ad-hoc requests in support of the entire CPG sales team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role
  • Experience in forecasting and planning/budgeting preferred
  • Strong excel skills required
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to adapt the message depending on the audience
  • Strong analytical skills a must
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Wholesale and/or Retail industries strongly preferred
  • Self-starter, who exhibits intellectual curiosity and drive for results

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit continuously at a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds on occasion

Work environment

  • Work takes place in an office setting
  • Work hours are a normal 40 hour work-week, although ability to work more than 40 hours necessary during peak times (e.g. month-end close, annual planning, etc.) and occasionally on an ad-hoc basis dependent on business needs
