This position will be responsible for leading all execution of field marketing and events at Stumptown, focusing on the regional markets. Working together with the Channel and Market Development Manager, this role is part project manager, part events lead and part public relations, working closely on day-to-day event deliverables and planning across multiple markets. Responsibilities include building the field marketing strategy, tracking project timelines, fulfilling project deliverables, cultivating vendor relationships, organizing staffing and budget management.
Outreach within the coffee community and beyond to cultivate fruitful relationships and gain exposure for Stumptown.
Develop annual field marketing strategic goals and budget, based on larger brand goals and initiatives.
Provide detailed recaps of activities, including message, attendance, impressions, budget and any other important metrics.
Accountable for field marketing and events from conception to execution and maximizing positive impressions for the brand.
Execute on all event details such as aesthetic, coffee service, third-party catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
Help facilitate teams in all markets from load-in to load-out. ‘Rollup sleeves’ and get the job done and ensure others do the same throughout every event.
Work closely with counterpart Field Marketing Manager to develop cohesive messaging and execution.
Act as Stumptown’s representative for public relations at local events.
Produce and present pitches, itineraries, schedules and documentation while managing vendors, contractors and third party suppliers.
Become the expert on details of events ranging from food/music festivals, brand collaborations, charitable engagements, cultural festivals, and more.
Maintain regular communication with event partners to ensure all commitments are fulfilled and superior service has been provided.
Communicate internally with marketing/fulfillment departments on essential events equipment and collateral.
Work closely with creative and social media staff to generate content, maximize return of investment and activate brand.
Collaborate across departments for creative brainstorming and solution-focused problem solving.
Exercise sensitivity to event partners’ needs and ensure healthy working relationships across all aspects of production. Remain flexible, positive and urgent while multi-tasking under pressure.
Ensure the highest quality events are on-time, on-budget and meet brand guidelines.
3-5 years events marketing experience – experience organizing and working events.
Project Management training or experience a plus
Excellent time management and general organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and/or Google Apps.
High degree of proficiency with calendar programs (shared, electronic, etc.).
Ability to multitask.
Professional and effective communicator both written and verbally.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in short order – calm under pressure.
Solid understanding of specialty coffee and/or food and restaurant industry landscape.
Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee.
Demonstrated ability to deliver the highest quality customer service.
Proactive approach to the day-to-day.
Carry weight, lift – lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Standing – ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to move, be physically on-the-go, from location to location at one time.
Taste/Smell – ability to detect and perceive smell of coffee.
Work will take place in both office and field events setting.
Extremely fast-paced at times, occasionally requiring longer hours, weekends work.
Local and occasional national travel required.
