“La Ladera is a specific area in Sumava that gives coffee plants great conditions for the development of great quality. At 1650 - 1680 meters above sea level, with cool temperatures during the daytime and very cool temperatures during the night time, the plant has a healthy and fresh microclimate year round. This cool and fresh environment develops a very intense bean body (known as density) in this SL28 Kenya cultivar. This particularity preserves the complexity of the flavors.
As coffee producers, we have learned in Sumava weather conditions, that it is nature that enables the coffee plant to produce great quality, not us. We must understand and analyze nature every year, as every year is different – understand our weather conditions and our soil – and work in hand with nature to apply the nutrients needed for the plant’s growth and production.”
