A note on sold out coffees
Coffee comes from a fruit, which is seasonal, so sometimes, things just aren't available. We know it's a bummer when we run out of your favorite, but sign up for our newsletter below and we'll send you secret notes when this coffee becomes available.
Producer: La Prosperidad de Chirinos Cooperative
The co-op supports its 630 members through education and sustainability initiatives, maintains model and learning gardens, a coffee nursery, and a guinea pig farm (a food staple here) as part of a food security program. We’re really excited about the growth we’ve seen so far and looking very forward to the future.
Region: San Ignacio in the Cajamarca Region, Peru
A very remote area in Northern Peru with breathtaking landscapes that is a mecca for growing organic coffee. When we visit here, our producers always offer upon arrival a shot of homemade aguardiente, anise-flavored firewater booze that the locals make and store in plastic Coca-Cola liters. The coffee culture here is relatively new and the region is only just beginning to gain access to basic infrastructure, such as electricity and paved roads. For us, it’s worth the rugged trek – we find this region produces incredibly expressive organic coffees.
